Fairs in Spain: a guide to the most important appointments in Madrid and Barcelona

Spain is one of the most popular destinations in the world for the organization of exhibitions and conferences, here are the most important events in Madrid and Barcelona. The cultural, financial, commercial and tourist importance of the country allows the cities of Madrid and Barcelona to benefit from numerous events, which have become increasingly important over the years.

An example is represented by the Mobile World Congress, the most important meeting in the world in the field of mobile telephony, which will be held in Barcelona from 25 to 28 February. The event, also called GSMA Barcelona fair, will take place this year with the presence of 1,500 participating companies, of which 113 are Spanish.  The MWC presents an advanced program of conferences that will be offered by the biggest names in the industry and the most innovative companies in the field of mobile communications. This year’s edition is moving to the Gran Via fair, which for the occasion will increase the exhibition space by about 30%.

Un another great appointment is the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid. This event has the main objective of promoting Spanish fashion and its creative diversity in a market dominated by Italian and French brands.  From 18 to 22 February, a total of 42 established and emerging designers will present their proposals for Fall/Winter 2013-14.

Also in Barcelona took place at the end of January, another of the most important meetings of Spanish fashion, the 080 Barcelona Fashion. One of the novelties of this last edition was presented by the designer Custo Dalamau who joined the major Catalan brands, such as Desigual and Mango, presenting his proposals for Fall/Winter 2013-14.
