Definition of cookies – Cookies are small text files that the sites visited send to the browser used by the visitor for navigation and in which they are stored and then sent back to the same sites on the next visit by the same user. Their use is for different purposes: execution of computer authentication, monitoring of sessions, storage of information on specific configurations set by the user (eg. the language), etc..

Types of cookies – Cookies received by the user on his or her computer or other device may be set either by the owner of the sites, or by different sites or web servers on which some elements of the site that the user is visiting reside, such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, links to web pages of other domains, etc. (generally, these different sites or web servers belong to platform providers for the creation of web sites, which set certain cookies in order to collect and use useful information for sending advertising). Depending on the person who sets and sends cookies, they differ:

First part cookies, to indicate the cookies set and sent by the site that the user is visiting;

Third party cookies, to indicate the cookies set by a site or web server other than the site you are visiting.

The distinction is made in order to identify their respective roles and responsibilities, as the owner of a site is the owner of the treatment of cookies installed by its site and not to third party cookies, for the latter there is only the obligation to include in its statement the updated link to the information and consent forms of third parties (obligation that, in the case of indirect contacts between the owner of the site and third parties, as in the case where the first has turned to dealers, can be fulfilled by linking to the site of the intermediary where the links to third parties are collected).

Another important distinction must be made on the basis of the purpose for which cookies are used, so a distinction is made between: Technical cookies: are those used to ensure the user the best use of the site and are distinguished in turn in:

Navigation or session cookies, which guarantee normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas);

Cookie analytics, which are assimilated to technical cookies when used directly by the owner of the site to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and the methods and timing of navigation;

Function cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the same;

Profiling cookies: are those used to collect information about the user in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the same in the context of surfing the web.

The installation of technical cookies does not require the prior consent of users, but the obligation to provide information pursuant to art. 13 RGPD.

Another distinction, finally, is based on the time of permanence (duration) of cookies on the user’s device, so they differ in:

Session cookies: are those automatically deleted when you stop visiting the site or when you close your browser;

Persistent cookies: those stored in the user’s device permanently until they expire or are deleted by the user.

Cookies operating on the site www.hostess-promoter.com – The following cookies are used on the Site:

Acceptance or rejection of cookies – As already mentioned, the installation of technical cookies does not require the prior consent of the user, without prejudice to the obligation to provide information.

For the installation of profiling cookies, however, given their invasiveness in the private sphere of users, the European and Italian legislation provides that the user must be informed about the use of the same and the need for his consent. For this reason, when accessing any page of the site www.hostess-promoter.com, a banner (information band) is activated that contains a brief information on cookies (including a link to this extended information) and on the request for consent; consent can be expressed in a simplified manner with the methods indicated in the banner, or selectively following the instructions provided in the paragraph below.

Failure to give consent has no other effect than that of not being able to offer the user the correct use of the site.

Management of cookies – If the user has doubts or concerns about the use of cookies, he can always intervene to prevent the installation and reading, both through the settings of the browser used by the user, or through the site.
